Purpose

The purpose of the school is to provide a learning environment for the preschool child that is conducive to Christian growth and development, and to encourage a lively awareness on the part of the child and his parents of Gods love for them.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to provide each child with experiences in each of the developmental areas, including creative, social/emotional, cognitive, physical motor, and language. The curriculum is emailed monthly to the family.

Policy

The school is a non-profit organization governed by a Board responsible to the Session of Christ Presbyterian Church through the Christian Education Commission.

The school is licensed by the State of California, Health and Welfare Agency, and the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.

Class Size

Limited class size provides individual attention and small group interaction.

We offer a variety of programs to meet the varied needs of our children and their parents. We have half-day morning and afternoon classes; extended day, and an Enrichment Program.

Evaluations

Teacher evaluations addressing each of the developmental areas will be made available to the parents two times a year; December and May. Parent Conferences are available upon request at any time, and in February and March for children entering Kindergarten in the Fall.

Indoor Environment

Children choose from a variety of activities set up in interest centers. Interest centers include art activities, creative writing, small motor activities, dramatic play, sensory play, cooking activities, block play, scientific observations. Circle time offers the opportunity to listen and respond to music, felt board activities and literature as presented by the teacher.

Outdoor Environment

Our outdoor environment offers children an enriched opportunity to explore many of the activities offered indoors such as art activities, dramatic play, sensory play, and small motor activities with more opportunities for large motor activities such as trikes, swings, and obstacle courses. Sand and water play are also favorite outdoor activities.

Parent Visitation

Parents are welcome and encouraged to visit our school at any time. Please check in at the Preschool Office upon arrival.
