“We are here to be a blessing!”

As AWANA and the rest of the world stopped to quarantine on March 15 this past year, we find ourselves today only 5 months later still trying to figure out our new normal.

“We want to help not hurt.”

What is AWANA
going to look like?

Our team has been praying for what AWANA can and should look like this year. What we heard clearly from the Lord is that we want to be a blessing to families and to their kids. We do NOT want to make AWANA burdensome. We did NOT want AWANA to just to be “another thing” that families had to add to their already overwhelming schedule. We felt the Lord’s desire to bring life and lighted-ness (not light and dark, but light as in not heavy, not weighty, not burdensome).

Shorter
year

1. We will only offer AWANA during the months of October, November, January, February and March. With telecommuting parents and virtual learning kids, we wanted to delay the start of AWANA a whole month. December is normally very busy and we desire that families spend quality time with each other. We are ending in March to give us a shorter year and to make club the best we can within a shorter calendar year.

Limited
Spots

2. We will only have a limited number of spots for each club. Since we will meet in-person outside once a month, we wanted to keep it small enough that each child can get to know others and get to know their leaders. We will only have 10 open spots for Cubbies, 15 spots for Sparks and 15 spots for T&T.

Two AWANA Options

HYBRID
AWANA

OPTION 1:

HYBRIDEach week, there will be a YouTube Video that takes the Large Group Lesson that club kids can watch anytime before Saturday. At the end of the week, on Saturday mornings—we will have Small Group over Zoom.

Once a month, each small group will get to meet in-person outside under a huge tent at Christ Pacific.

At-Home
AWANA

OPTION 2:

AT-HOMEthis is the go at your own pace, parent led, volunteer supported, non-abandoned model. We want to give the parents the freedom to go as fast or as slow to keep in pace with their kid. We will provide teacher lessons, craft ideas, emblems and patch awards, etc. to help you the parent make AWANA club fun at-home.

Club starts Oct 3.

There is a Parent Zoom Info Meeting Sept 26 | 900 to 1030 am.

Cost: $35 to register each kid., $15 for Handbook = $50 for the year.

Optional: $15 for uniform and $10 for Tote bag.

NO CHILD WILL BE DENIED PARTICIPATION IN AWANA BECAUSE OF AN INABILITY TO PAY THEIR YEARLY DUES OR PURCHASE A HANDBOOK OR UNIFORMS.

We do not wish to exclude any child from AWANA because of financial hardship. Please decide what your family is able to pay for the registration. Email jalmiranez@cpchb.org about an AWANA scholarship.

Sibling discounts, Parent Volunteers and other helps are available.
