Human Trafficking

Mission: To eradicate human trafficking in Huntington Beach and beyond

The Christ Pacific Church Human Trafficking Task Force is part of a coalition of churches and faith-based organizations coming together to fight Human Trafficking. Human Trafficking is happening here in Huntington Beach and our neighboring communities. It is comprised of both sex and labor trafficking. The exploitation of minors is a reality in the United States, and comes in many forms. Our goal is to equip and educate youth and adults with strategies to enable them to be safe from exploitation.

Pursuant to the Office of the Attorney General of the State of California, “Human trafficking is the world’s fastest growing criminal enterprise and is an estimated $32 billion-a-year global industry. It is a form of modern day slavery that profits from the exploitation of our most vulnerable populations.” A report,

The State of Human Trafficking in California,

notes that “72% of human trafficking victims whose country of origin was identified are American,” and that “The perpetrators of human trafficking have become more sophisticated and organized, requiring an equally sophisticated response from law enforcement and its partners to disrupt and dismantle their networks.”
Pursuant to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (“NCMEC”), of the more than 11,800 endangered runaways reported to NCMEC in 2015, one in five were likely victims of child sex trafficking. Of those, 74 percent were in the care of social services when they went missing.
